Dog Walk Cycle First Pass + Ref Vid
I can't remember the last time I animated a quadruped, which obviously means it's been WAY too long. So here's a first pass of my dog Oreo, a Border Collie/Corgi mix, & the reference video I shot a while ago. I mostly refered to the first few seconds, looking at them frame by frame to judge the shapes.
This was also done in Flash and I am waaay rusty X_x
Any crits here or via Facebook is much appreciated :D I'd like to get this up to demo reel level, so please pick it apart. At this point I've mostly focused on getting the legs, hips, & shoulders working. I haven't messed with the tail, head, or ears too much yet.

X-Posted from my Portfolio
I've been getting back into inks and colored pencils lately, mostly for fun, but also a bit for some gift art I've finished recently. I used to work this way all the time back in high school, but once I was in college, I stopped using color (outside of Color & Design class) as all my work was required to be in grayscale. So now I'm finally getting back into it, bit by bit.
I'd love to keep working this way, I just need to get new inking pens! Mine are starting to dry up unfortunately, but I did get some good recommendations from several art buddies, so hopefully I'll be getting something new soon.
CTNX is right around the corner! I am SO excited! I miss seeing my art buddies from the LA area, and I can't wait for all the amazing panels and demos going on. Also, I'm really looking forward to picking people's brains and getting some critiques on my sketchbook.
Now then, onto some finished art!
(PS- Tinkerbell & Chun-Li are not my characters, but the artwork is mine. Just FYI :D)

Instagram & Coffee & Oreo
I wish Instagram connected to Blogspot :| It does for Tumblr and a bunch of others, but not here. LAAAME. Then I would flood this poor blog with all the random stuff I share on Twitter, haha XD But it's all good. Whenever I connect my iPhone, I can at least share things if a bit belated.
Unlike most people my age, I'm fairly new to the whole "making my own coffee" thing. I blame my uncle for getting me to do it in the first place. I never really bothered making my own before, since I didn't really know how (I know, I know, bare with me) and I wasn't aware of all the ways to make it taste good. Last month I housesat for my uncle, and I had seen him make coffee before, so I was left to my own to make coffee myself. I'm also a newb when it comes to the Berkeley area AND broke, so I didn't want to go in search of coffee shops. So I tooled around figuring out how to make my coffee taste sweet, how much coffe to milk & sugar ratio I wanted, etc. I got pretty good at it, I must say XD
So with this in mind, when mom and I made a Target trip a few weeks ago (Target's about 45-ish minutes away, so it turns into a trip XD), I picked up some Starbucks caramel coffee... mix, whatever you call it. Now whenever I make myself get up early enough (since it's still super hot here, I don't feel like having hot coffee when it's past 10 or 11 in the morning), I make my tasty caramel coffee, load it up with some kind of creamer (mom has several of her own, and I bought myself a caramel macchiato(sp?) one the other week), and viola! Happy Ducky is happy X3
Those of you who've known me a while know I have a screwy back. I've been in several car accidents over the years, so my back is definitely not, uhhh... brilliant, I guess is the way to put it. Seriously, if cyborgs were an everyday thing, I'd be part cyborg by now. Anyway, so a few weeks ago, I managed to sprain my back, probably from a combination of tossing and turning in my sleep, and sitting way too much working on projects and commuting to and from Berkeley. It's so bad that even sitting up now to ramble about coffee is pretty painful. My right hip is the worst though, since a nerve gets pinched and makes it hard to use that leg >.o SO! Because of this, it's been a royal pain to work as much as I've wanted to lately. I sucked it up long enough the other week to bust out a test to apply for some contract work, but since then, whoo boy, I've been flat on my back trying not to further agitate the problem. When I saw a doctor earlier this week, he told me to "walk it off." :| Thanks a lot, dude. So at this point it's been going on for nearly a month, and it's only getting slightly better. And I've gotten off track, yet again XD;;
The whole reason I even mentioned my screwy back was to say that I meant to be have started relearning Flash this week by doing a walk cycle of my dog, Oreo. My mom helped me shoot reference of him earlier this week (she walked him back and forth, back and forth in a parking lot so I could get plenty of good takes), and man, this walk cycle has gone from being a simple exercise to something more complicated. For those who haven't met Oreo, he's a Corgi/Sheltie/Border Collie mix, called a Borgi or Shelgi. So he has the short stumpy legs, long body, long fluffy tail, small head, and floppy, over-sized ears. He's an adorable mess X3 ANYWAY, so aside from his little legs, the vid shows that one ear is up, one is down, and the up one flops a bit. Plus his tongue was hanging out, and then there's his really long tail. Yeaaah. Definitely gonna be a challenge, but I think it'll be a great quadruped walk if I can get it to come out just right :) Definitely looking forward to a fun challenge
I'll be uploading some art hopefully soon @.@ I meant to color some things yesterday, then I ended up helping a friend with her taxes at the last minute X____x Whiiiich is continuing today and is going to take up my whole day probably :\ People, for the love of god, keep your finances & important documents ORGANIZED. It will make your life so. much. easier. if you keep things together!

Welcome!
Hullo & welcome to my blog!
As the banner says, this is a place where you'll see everything from my art to photos to all manner of ramblings.
I plan to use this blog as a place other than Facebook to post all my artwork, particularly that which I don't post over on my portfolio & that which FB's policy may find offensive (ie. nipples, oh noes!). If you're my friend on FB or follow my portfolio, you'll probably see some repeats here, but overall, this blog will have things I don't post elsewhere :3
I'll continue to work on this blog throughout this week, adding in photos, some art and animations, and working out the kinks of the layout, BG, etc.
I hope you enjoy my blog as I continue to make better use of it :D
